Emma LeConte
Emma LeConte was 17 years old when Sherman and his troops invaded Columbia. Her father taught at the South Carolina College, known today and The University of South Carolina. During the war, Emma kept a diary describing everything that she saw and heard during the approach of Sherman, and the destruction of Columbia. Click here for Tour Rates!
